What is the grand blanc grid?

Our Mission

Friends of the Grand Blanc Grid support improved infrastructure for pedestrians, cyclists, people with disabilities and mass transit users on roads in Grand Blanc and throughout Genesee County.

Our Vision

Our vision is  an equitable Genesee County road system that supports transportation choice. Equitable and accessible infrastructure improves air quality, lowers carbon emissions, improves public health, and supports community engagement and economic development.

You've seen this.. people running, biking or walking on the side of a busy road...

Have you said "I wish there was a path here".  There can be.  We have the room, construction is being done.  Paths should be included.  Join us - attend our meetings, donate, spread the word.  This can be done but we need YOU.  We cannot do this without YOU.

why build the grid?

Besides being a safe place to walk, run or bike what do path's do for a community?

Key Economic Benefits

*Trails increase the value of nearby properties.

*Trails make communities more attractive places to live.

*Trails influence business location and relocation decisions.

*Trails can make communities attractive to businesses looking to expand or
 relocate.

*Trails reduce medical costs by encouraging exercise and other healthy outdoor
 activities.

*Trails revitalize depressed areas, creating a demand for space in what were once
 vacant buildings.

*Trails provide transportation options and cut fuel expenses, offering reliable
means of transportation for short distance trips.

*Trails provide low or no-cost recreation to families.

*Trails increase tax revenues in the communities in which they are located.
